Carey Locke is board certified in commercial and residential real estate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He received his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas in 1976 and his law degree from St. Mary’s University in 1980, where he was Senior Associate Editor of St. Mary’s Law Journal, 1978-1980 (twice published), and served in St. Mary’s Student Senate. He also was law clerk to Honorable Adrian A. Spears, Chief Judge, United States District Court, Western District of Texas, 1980-1981. He is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas. He has served as Director and President of the San Antonio Young Lawyer’s Association, Chairman of the Environmental Law Committee and Chairman of the Agricultural Law Committee for the American Bar Association, Young Lawyer’s Division, and Committee Member of the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association International Law Committee. Mr. Locke has served in various charitable capacities in Corpus Christi, including Alliance (Chamber) Business Recruitment Committee, Board of Governors and Board of Trustees of the South Texas Institute for the Arts (Chairman, Long Range Planning Committee; Co-Chairman, Major Donors Committee), Board of Directors for the March of Dimes, and special counsel to the Junior League. Mr. Locke specializes in the areas of real estate and commercial business, corporate and banking transactions.
